What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.

The buzz throughout St. John and in the world of luxury villas is all about the impressive scale and the barefoot elegance of À La Mer! Waterfront on Great Cruz Bay, this magnificent new estate holds court within an oasis of stately palm trees, boasting probably what is the largest private pool on St. John.

Within the sun-kissed world of À La Mer, the Main Villa takes center stage, embraced by the aquamarine pool and the pool cabana, and bordered by a faux white-sand beach set with chaise lounges and a fire pit brazier. The expansive fully air-conditioned two-story Main Villa features seven bedroom/bath suites and a beautifully-proportioned Great Room graced with high arched windows and artistic stonework crafted in the classic St. John style. White slipcovered sink-into sofas and chairs are grouped around the Great Room to accommodate a large party, and a mahogany dining table for 14 is flanked by a stunning model yacht in full sail. Adjoining the Great Room, on the other side of the tiled entry foyer, is the large gourmet kitchen with a Viking range, a center island, lots of countertop space for several cooks, and a convenient pass-through window to the outdoor poolside dining area. The kitchen area also offers a wet bar with a beverage cooler and ice machine; behind that is a powder room looking into a walled garden.

Beyond the spacious kitchen is the blue family room, a cheerful space for lounging with a large flat-screen TV and a table for cards or games. Screened french doors open out to the front of the house from the family room, to À La Mer's outside front patio which features a bubbling fountain. On the other side of the family room, more french doors lead out to patios and pool. A hallway leads past the large laundry room to two of À La Mer's king bedroom/bath suites, both of which offer generous ensuite baths and screened french doors opening outside to small covered patios and to the pool beyond.

Twin mahogany staircases ascend from either side of the family room to À La Mer's upper floor, where five more air-conditioned bedroom/suites overlook the pool and majestic yachts riding at anchor on sparkling Great Cruz Bay. These suites all enjoy central air-conditioning, large ensuite baths tiled in charming designs, and via screened french doors, each has its own balcony. One of these five upstairs suites is À La Mer's master suite, a larger suite with a king four-poster bed, a private roofed patio with seating, and a spacious bath. The sumptuous master bath features a double vanity, a separate WC with a bidet, and a semi-alfresco double shower clad in glass tile and travertine. The other four suites have romantic four-poster king beds and ensuite baths (the corner suite has a tiled semi-alfresco shower). Two of these suites have a connecting door between them, perfect for parents who wish to be near their children. At the top of one staircase is an alcove with a desk with a printer and a two-twin trundle bed for children under 16 years.

Outside the Main Villa on the Great Cruz Bay side is À La Mer's shaded poolside terrace, furnished with plush upholstered seating for watching the kids in the pool, reading or napping, and a large round table under a roofed pergola for alfresco meals. The pass-through from the kitchen is incorporated into an adjoining counter lined with bar stools. This expansive outdoor living area, where you'll spend most of your time, also has two gas grills, one of them built into a charming garden patio, a ping-pong table for family championship competitions, and a deck lined with cushioned chaise lounges for sun worshippers. The pool is absolutely spectacular! It has a four-inch deep shallow shelf, perfect for sun loungers and for small children, a waterfall, and is bordered on the ocean side with a "beach," a strip of white sand set with more chaise lounges and a stone fire pit. The pool also features a swim-up bar with underwater bar stools at the pool cabana, a wonderful poolside entertainment pavilion with large-screen cable TV and DVD player, plus a wet bar with icemaker, beverage cooler and dishwasher. An electronic shutter rolls down at a touch of a button to secure the pool cabana when not being used. The pool cabana also has a handy powder room and outside shower. For experienced divers, there is access from the coral-and-sand waterfront into Great Cruz Bay for snorkeling - and you can also visit The Westin Resort's lovely white sand beach further down the Bay, about a 10-minute walk away.

À La Mer's Cottage is off to the side of the Main Villa, and on its upper level, offers a secluded fully-air-conditioned apartment suite, complete with a full kitchen, a bedroom with two queen beds and bath, a double-twin trundle bed in the living area for children under 16 years old, and a porch outside covered by latticework. The estate's ninth bedroom is on the ground level; it's a cozy and simple air-conditioned bedroom and bath with two twin beds. The Cottage's garage contains beach chairs, coolers, and a washer and dryer for your convenience.

Situated on over one acre of waterfront land behind an electronic gate landscaped with tropical flowers and graceful royal, foxtail and coconut palm trees, spectacular À La Mer's large-scale design and execution is an artful combination of both colonial West Indies and classic St. John, incorporating French antique terra cotta roof tiles, St. John shell- and stonework, aged brick, all melded to create stunning exteriors, and inside, a pleasing floorplan which flows easily and provides lots of space for everyone's comfort. Every handsome custom detail - mahogany cabinetry hand carved in Honduras, lovely tile design throughout, cypress ceilings, designer island decor, artisan lighting, botanical art prints, and a bounty of excellent features and amenities for guests' enjoyment - make luxurious yet beach-casual À La Mer a unique and matchless Caribbean villa experience for families and friends!

As is true in any popular destination, construction of a new home has begun in the lot next (to the left of) À La Mer. We do anticipate some construction noise from time to time. If you would like further details on the current status of this building activity, please inquire and we'll be happy to obtain the latest information for you.

At the nearby Westin Resort, À La Mer guests may purchase a weekly pass for $80, and a day pass for $20 to use The Westin's gym. Tennis at The Westin Resort can be booked in advance, and depends on availability of courts for play. An additional hourly rate of $20/hour is required to use the tennis courts. Tennis racquets can be rented for $10 for up to 2 hours, and tennis balls are sold at $8 for a can of 3. Guests must call to make appointments to use the Westin's spa, and must have a credit card in hand to confirm their appointments. Guests may also sign up for a complimentary property tour of the resort which is approximately 90 minutes and if they complete the tour they will be given a complimentary day pass in which they will be able to use any of the amenities at the resort.

A notarized liability waiver is required for children 7 years and under PRIOR to arrival. .

St. John is known for its beaches and a large collection of luxury villas dotting verdant mountainsides. From St. Thomas, you can take the ferry to this smaller and laid-back sister U.S. Virgin Island of St. John... an island 20-40 minutes away in time but light years away in ambience. This popular Caribbean island has only two major hotels, but offers hundreds of St. John luxury villas and vacation properties, from basic rental cottages and condominiums, to super-luxurious villa estates. BeautifulPlaces has a wonderful portfolio of luxury St. John villas - be sure to book yours early, as this is one of the most sought-after vacation destinations in the Caribbean. Spend some time poking around the many interesting and artsy shops that line the streets of Cruz Bay, St. John's main hub. Don't miss shopping in Wharfside Village and Mongoose Junction, St. John's beautiful island-style malls, plus many other varied shops and galleries. Cruz Bay can be lively at night too, offering some excellent restaurants and watering holes from casual to very upscale, and live music and dancing.

Take a drive via scenic roads out to Coral Bay, a small village where you'll enjoy funky bars, a few quaint shops and horseback riding. You can continue eastward to St. John's pristine east end for its spectacular views and crystal-clear waters: Coral Bay, Hansen Bay and Privateer Bay beyond play host to incredible sunrises and unspoiled nature. And of course, on St. John, watersports abound: SCUBA diving, snorkeling, sailing, power boating, beach lounging and swimming. 5,000 acres of St. John are designated as Virgin Islands National Park (courtesy of the late philanthropist Laurence Rockefeller).

National Park lands occupy a full three-fifths of this 9-by-5-mile Caribbean island, keeping it relatively tranquil and pristine. With over 20 hiking trails, miles of fabulous beaches, and with easy access to the British Virgin Islands via ferry, St. John is the ideal place for vacationers seeking the fable and aura of seafaring explorers, pirates and undersea life. Explore the stunning National Park beaches of Hawksnest Bay, Trunk Bay, Cinnamon Bay and Maho Bay and their sugar-white sands and clear, shimmering blue waters before retiring to your villa for the night.

The Virgin Islands National Park's Rangers offer hikes, seashore walks, historic, cultural and snorkeling tours, bird watching and informal evening lectures to visitors. Leaving the town area means ascending high into St. John's hills; Bordeaux Mountain offers a cool bird's-eye view of the British Virgins Islands, plus a portion of the famous Reef Bay Trail, to the Reef Bay Estate Great House. There are other historical monuments to explore, including the Windberg Estate, the Frederikdal ruins, and the restored Annaberg Plantation (a National Park site). For a very small island, St. John offers lots of action-packed, fun days and nights for the young at heart. But should you want to sit quietly by your villa's private pool and simply relax with your loved ones, this is also the perfect place to be. St. John (the island) and St. John's vacation villas truly have it all.

BRING PROOF of YOUR CITIZENSHIP Everyone departing St. John, even Americans, are now required by U.S. Immigration to show either a passport or a certified copy of a birth certificate accompanied by a photo ID - please don't forget these for the whole family!

Please note that The Virgin Islands Smoke-Free Act has been passed by the U.S. Virgin Islands Legislature, which bans smoking less than 20 feet from many spaces, including enclosed public places, enclosed places of employment, outdoor service or waiting lines and outdoor bus stations and public transportation platforms. Smoking also is prohibited within 20 feet of any of those locations. Keep this in mind as you enjoy your stay in the U.S. Virgin Islands!

Many adjectives have been used to describe St. John: "bucolic", "sleepy", "low-key"... this lush U.S. Virgin Island is two-thirds National Park, adding to its tropical allure. St. John villa guests have access to many modern conveniences, such as internet connections, island wedding planners, and transportation assistance.

We highly recommend that you pre-stock (provision) your villa so that you can get down to the serious business of relaxing following what's generally a long travel day, especially if you have children on hand or you have special dietary needs. This service will be invaluable, freeing you up to be embraced by your luxury villa's fine appointments and verdant surroundings.

Hire a professional chef for your St. John villa stay; you'll love the convenience! Our chefs are specially selected for their reputations, service and varied menus. Consider hosting a meal for a special occasion, or just to pamper your sweetheart or loved ones. Throw off the cares of day-to-day living and really kick back in style.

Sweet St. John is just one of the tropical island jewels at your disposal for seagoing fun. Below the surface is a teeming metropolis of ocean life. Enchanting sea fans and stunning coral provide a backdrop to all manner of fishes and shellfish going about their daily lives between here and British Virgin Islands such as Virgin Gorda, Norman Island and Jost Van Dyke. Dolphins may eye you with amusement, a sea turtle may paddle by on the way to lunch... under such intense observation, you just may wonder if you're the exhibit!

We know that your St. John villa is why you came, but why stay in when you can get out and discover the islands? For good, old-fashioned fun, there's no place like St. John! The island vibe reigns with plenty to do and see that's exotic and new. On the other hand, you can also take a day trip to sister island St. Thomas or visit the British Virgin Islands for a spree that will stimulate your senses.
