Blackbeard's Hideaway
Features
What’s a Rich Text element?
The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.
Static and dynamic content editing
A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!
How to customize formatting for each rich text
Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
Completed in 2009, so elegant in its simplicity and with a spacious floor plan, this two-bedroom, two-bath villa is adorned with local bluebit stonework and capped with terra cotta roof tiles. Handsome epi wood french doors and arched windows frame the sea views - Blackbeard's Hideaway looks out to Little Thatch Island and Sopers Hole, with yachts riding at anchor on Tortola's West End. Sailboats under full sail and ferries plying their way between West End, Road Town and St. Thomas pass back and forth below this villa.
As you enter into Blackbeard's Hideaway, the high-ceiling Great Room welcomes you in and showcases the panorama of ocean and isles just outside. The Great Room encompasses the well-outfitted kitchen (graced with stainless steeel appliances, mahogany cabinetry and an artistically-tiled backsplash), the dining area and a seating area with cable TV and DVD player.
Two equal-sized, air-conditioned king bedroom suites flank either side of the Great Room; each suite has its own private alfresco shower overlooking the vistas. Screened french doors open from each bedroom/bath suite out to a long covered verandah, featuring latticed sections fronting each suite; this verandah borders the entire front of Blackbeard's Hideaway, offering open-air dining and even a desk so you can email and work from your laptop while enjoying the view and cool tradewinds. A few stairs take you from this relaxing area down to the swimming pool and sun deck.
Furnishings are in elegant tropical style, featuring a pleasing meld of bamboo, rattan and exotic woods accented with colorful cushions. Although this home is situated near Gestalt, it is threaded by stone walkways and lushly landscaped for your complete privacy. A walking path winds down the hill from this villa to the ocean's edge and to a dock (shared with Gestalt's guests), where you can slide into the ocean for wonderful snorkeling on live reefs.
Beautifully executed and very well furnished with almost everything you might need on vacation, Blackbeard's Hideaway is perfect for two couples or a small family looking for the serenity of a seaside holiday. You may rent Blackbeard's Hideaway as your own private vacation villa, or combine it with either Gestalt or Steele Point, or with both sister villas, for a group of up to 22 persons.
