With its dramatic setting and endless vistas over the valley, it’s hard to believe that Mallard is just five minutes from the lively town of Sonoma. But there is so much more to this contemporary home than just a stellar location. The mid-century style home with two story walls of glass opens onto an expansive private promontory where the terrace and pool afford 180-degree views surrounding by a natural hillside woodland. There’s lots of room to luxuriate under sunny skies on the pool deck or enjoy the cooling shade of the signature coastal oak trees and unusual dessert landscaping. Wander down the hillside and you’ll discover a ‘hidden’ spa – totally private. On the other side up the garden steps is a secluded sitting area ideal for morning coffee or late night stargazing.

The home was designed for the casual wine country lifestyle with its open flowing design featuring of natural wood and stone elements. The Great Room is the centerpiece of the home where you’ll relax around the two story fireplace and admire the quintessential wine country views. The open kitchen makes preparing meals and dining a social affair and the double glass doors leading to the outdoors makes al fresco meals part of your daily routine at Mallard.

The home’s neutral colors scheme is the perfect backdrop for the burst of natural color and light that filter in from every angle. The bedroom on the first floor opens to a private terrace surrounded by ancient oak trees.

Take the spiral stairs to the second floor to discover a comfortable den where you can catch up on your favorite TV shows and movies. Each of the three upper bedrooms have private baths and terraces where you’ll want to escape for some solitude as you enjoy a bird’s eye view of the valley.
