Golf - The Gold Coast offers world class golf courses including the 7,300-yard, par 72 masterpiece Hacienda Pinilla golf course created by Mike Young. When in residence at the Villas at Playa Flamingo, owners enjoy a corporate membership and discounted greens fees at Hacienda Pinilla. The par 71 Garr de Leon course at Reserva Conchal is also nearby and was designed in the classic tradition by Robert Trent Jones II, accentuated with lakes and ravines and meandering through the rolling terrain with breathtaking ocean views.
Deep Sea Fishing - Tarpon, marlin, sailfish, dorado, mahi mahi and tuna call the Gold Coast home - charter your own boat or go with a group and enjoy world-class fishing! Full and half day trips depart from the nearby Flamingo marina. Flamingo is the main sport fishing center of the northern Pacific coast of Costa Rica.
Scuba and Snorkeling Trips - An average year round water temperature of 80 degrees make exploring the Gold Coast's underwater wonderland irresistible. Both feature several kilometers of trails leading to Naranjo and Nancite beaches where the Olive Ridley turtle nests. This unique turtle is responsible for the world famous arribadas, or mass nestings, that usually occur between August and December. Playa Grande beach is the nesting site for the world’s largest turtle – the 1,500 lb. leatherback.
Bird Watching - In close proximity to Guanacaste, bird watching abounds in the Guayabo, Negritos and los Pajaros Islands Biological Reserve.
